The Essence of Yin – Yin Yoga Teacher Training – 30hr Teacher Training with Eimear Beardmore

Eimear Beardmore is delighted to be leading a 3 day 30hr Yin Teacher Training at Falmouth Yoga Space this August. With a background in education she has designed a curriculum that supports trainees as emerging teachers and practitioners of yin. Drawing on her experience in dance and somatics Eimear will be situating the practice of yin yoga at the heart of this training. Within each individual’s practice there is a wealth of insight and wisdom that can translate into a powerful and authentic teaching offering. Teaching opportunities will be a significant component of this training. The key tenets of yin yoga- the physical, energetic and mindfulness aspects of the practice will be covered.

The training will include the following:

* Deepening of each individual’s practice

* Opportunities to practice the teaching of yin yoga

* Functional Anatomy

* Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine

* Encountering the Mind in Yin Yoga

* Teaching Skills: A Reflective Practitioner

Upon completion of the course trainees will have the skills necessary to craft and teach effective yin practices. Eimear has been teaching yoga since 2012, yin since 2014 and was one of the first yin trained teachers in Dublin. She has studied with yin teachers Bernie Clark and Josh Summers. About Eimear in her own words:

I am a Dublin based yoga teacher and teacher trainer. My first introduction to yoga was at the age of 8, having maintained my practice throughout my teenage years I completed my 200hr yoga Teacher Training in 2012. Further training followed in Vinyasa and Yin Yoga with Josh Summers (2013,2015 and 2018) and Bernie Clark (2018). I completed my 300hr with Bryce Yoga in 2018. I have had the opportunity to study with yoga and movement specialists such as Lisa Petersen, Dave Curtis, Donna Farhi, Shiva Rea, David Swenson, Jason Crandell, Amy Matthews and Liz Koch to name but a few. I have broadened my studies into other movement disciplines such as somatics and pilates. This curiosity culminated in completion of an MA in Dance from University of Limerick in 2016.

I am currently drawing on 1000s of hours of teaching, training and practice to translate that experience into an offering for teachers in the practice of Yin Yoga. I have co-led trainings as part of Yin University and will be teaching The Essence of Yin Teacher Training in 2019 at The Elbowroom Dublin.

As a trained primary school teacher and part-time lecturer I am passionate about teaching and sharing the benefits physically, emotionally and psychologically that yoga has to offer. I believe that connecting body and mind is at the heart of a yoga practice, practising in this way the opportunities for insight and self-reflection are endless providing fuel for a lifelong yoga practice that is adaptable and practical. I believe yoga should be a creative and fun process. Through my teaching of Vinyasa or Yin I aim to empower students to deepen their practice each time they arrive on their mat.
